Sire Details

PEDIGREE:
His sire Argentan I was stationed at the Bargstedt studfarm all his life. He presented not only top international competition horses like Itschutschuna and Aramis e.t.c., but also mares of the very highest quality. Argentan I had the image of being a producer of true to type mares, yet without neglecting the competition sport component. In 1994 Argentan I was voted as the stallion of the year on the basis of his surprising prepotency. The damsire, the stylish chestnut Duden II, who attained the ripe old age of 30, also enjoyed the very highest esteem as a producer of top quality performance horses and qualitative broodmares. The maternal line is based on the mare Adafella (by Allerhof III-Denhof). It produced inter alia the approved riding stallion Amareno, the approvals and stallion performance test winner Gachino, who also became the South German riding horse champion and is meanwhile being trained by Ulla Salzgeber in advanced dressage, as well as the Hessian private stallion Luchino.

PERFORMANCE:
Argentinus performed well as a showjumper up to Grand Prix level following his successful stallion performance test. The list of Argentinus' achievements during the course of his long career is long – Champion Stallion in Oldenburg, Stallion of the Year in Hanover
Argentinus who has uninterruptedly performed covering duty at Klein Roscharden since his early youth, quickly advanced to become a sire of world format. In 1984 he was awarded the Top premium for his excellent offspring. In 1996 he was the youngest millionaire among
Germany's top class stallions and is meanwhile the most successful living stallion nationwide. Argentinus is omnipresent wherever one looks, whether it is breeding or sport, mare shows or approvals, dressage or on the showjumping course, Argentinus' s presence can be seen and felt nigh to everywhere.

PROGENY:
This performance class I tested, main premium champion stallion dominates the breeding and competition sports stage effectively and with a for all intents and purposes uniqueness in his diversity. Numerous Argentinus progeny have been at the forefront of the international showjumping and dressage sport for years now. In excess of 20 approved sons (including the stallion performance test winner and top lot of the Vechta auction August der Starke) and a great number of state premium mares, of which many have made a name for themselves supra-regionally (i.a. federal mare shows, FN performance stud book), are living proof of the breeding successes of this exceptional stallion. The most famous Argentinus offspring currently are Arko with Nick Skelton, Anka 61 with Marcus Ehning, Aleppo S-OLD with Isabell Werth and
Albano 7, who was a reserve in the German Olympic team 2000 with Heike Kemmer.
His son, Arko ESI, sold for 130,000 Euro, making him the most expensive warmblood foal ever sold at an auction in
Germany. A full brother of this price record breaker, Arko III, was the most successful show jumper in the world twice under Nick Skelton. But Argentinus' many other internationally successful off-spring document why he remains such a popular sire: Anka, under Marcus Ehning, won the competition in Spangenberg and took home a ribbon from Geneva the end of this year. Nations Cup winner Asti Spumanti under Thomal Mühlbauer had another great season. As the sire, so the off-spring: honest, willing to perform and born with a genius talent for jumping. The statistics on his internationally successful off-spring show the true dimensions of his greatness. Special Ed, for example, participated in the World Equestrian Games in Aachen under Jill Henslewood.

OWNERS  RECOMMENDATIONS:
In spite of their enormous talent for jumping, Argentinus' children are always good movers as well and thanks to their first class characters, they are the perfect partners for all equestrian sports. Argentinus – a living legend!
