About - With Drummer, Team Nijhof has again recorded a genetically very interesting stallion for breeding. Drummer is a direct son Diamant de Semilly, who comes from one of the very best lines of Holstein. He is also a direct son of top mare China Touch Hero. This young stallion jumps with a lot of technique and power. Drummer is the brother of no less than nine international showjumpers and three approved stallions.
With the accumulation of stamp stallions Diamant de Semilly, Chin Chin, Caretino and Landgraf I, this stallion has an excellent dam line and his own jumping talent, Drummer is an asset to breeding. Even as a sport horse, he seems to have a lot of potential.
Sire - Diamant de Semilly is one of the best stallions to ever come out of France. In 2016, he topped the WBFSH Sire Rankings for the second successive year, cementing his position as the best jumping sire in the world. Diamant is a powerful stallion with a strong back, scope, great balance, wonderful canter, suppleness, uncommon ease and super willingness, coupled with a rideability that he passes on to his offspring.
Diamant was successful immediately as a young horse, qualifying for the French Championships at Fontainebleau as a four-, five-, and six-year-old. His international career was exceptional; team gold at the 2002 World Equestrian Games (and individual ninth), team silver at the 2003 European Championships, and 2002 French Champion. He was selected for the 2004 Olympic Games, but missed out due to injury.
His international results include many wins and placings at grand prix, including: winner of the Pioltello Grand Prix, the St. Lô Grand Prix, and the 1999 Caen Stallion World Championship, third in the Cervia, Normandy, and Auvers grands prix, fourth in the Lummen and Modena Nations Cups, and eighth in the grands prix of Munchen and St. Lô. On his final competition appearance, he won the CSI4* Liege Grand Prix.
Damline - Drummer's mother, China Touch Hero, has already produced the well-known Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji Hero – also a son of Diamant de Semilly and therefore the full brother of Drummer. Don't Touch Tiji Hero already has a huge talent as a young horse and from a very small number of offspring he already gave some spectacular jumping prospect. Last year, two offspring jumped in the final of the seven-year-olds at the World Championships for young showjumpers in Lanaken. The most striking is of course Dourkhan Hero Z – one of Christian Ahlmann's future talents.
Another very successful son of China Touch Hero is Akarad Hero Z. Ridden by Pieter Clemens, Akarad Hero Z has successfully represented Belgium several times in the nations competitions and his offspring are also doing above average. Furthermore, China Touch Hero gave the 1.50m classified showjumpers Jaguar de Tiji and Esprit de la Roque.
Drummer's grandmother Laska III produced three 1.60m showjumpers, including Gracieux du Pachis. This mare won several Grand Prix under Julien Epaillard and is now successful ridden by Alessandra Volpi.
