Ludger Beerbaum Stables and Helgstrand Dressage start partnership

As it became known yesterday, Andreas Helgstrand and Ludger Beerbaum are founding the “Global Equestrian Group”. This is not about a merger, but about a partnership between Ludger Beerbaum Stables, Helgstrand Dressage and the investment group Waterland Private Equity. Ludger Beerbaum becomes managing director.
The following press release about the new partnership comes from the show jumping stable:
“The founding of the Global Equestrian Group is an expression of the new strategic partnership between the internationally recognized German company Ludger Beerbaum Stables GmbH, (consisting of a sports and trading stable for show jumping horses, a stallion station and the modern equestrian center Riesenbeck International), Helgstrand Dressage - one of the the world's leading equestrian company with modern sales and training centers in Denmark, Germany and the USA - as well as Waterland Private Equity. The Global Equestrian Group is taking over Ludger Beerbaum Stables - Ludger Beerbaum remains its managing director.
In total, the new partnership will employ more than 150 people, be present in four countries and have a turnover of more than EUR 60 million. The Global Equestrian Group also includes the jewelry company Helgstrand Denmark, the equestrian clothing company Kingsland Equestrian and other companies in the hippological field. The majority owner of Helgstrand Dressage, Waterland Private Equity, will support the newly established partnership and will also be the majority shareholder of the group.

The seven-time Olympic participant and four-time gold medalist for show jumpers at the Olympic Games is the founder of the Ludger Beerbaum Stables.
The equestrian center Riesenbeck International will be expanded and renovated this spring, 300 permanent stables and new clay courts will be built. The Global Equestrian Group will also expand the activities relating to the training of young horses, breeding and horse trading at the Ludger Beerbaum Stables and thus create a solid platform to organically expand the presence in the large and attractive show jumping market.

SHOW JUMPING MARKET BIGGER
The global market for show jumpers is significantly larger than the dressage market. In total, the Global Equestrian Group will address a combined market of more than 30 billion euros and expand the strong global position of the group and that of the independent brands in order to exploit sales synergies and to expand in new regions.

The daily management of the Ludger Beerbaum Stables and Helgstrand Dressage remains unchanged. The two founders will invest in the Global Equestrian Group alongside Waterland. The parties have agreed not to provide any information about the purchase price. "

The Ludger Beerbaum Stables are an internationally recognized show jumping company with a sports and trading stable, a stallion station and the Riesenbeck International equestrian center in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
